Have you ever been to the Observatory? If you haven’t, I encourage you to go. The Griffith Park Observatory in Hollywood is my favorite. I usually go there after a good hike, you get to enjoy a fantastic view of the city from the top of the hills and then can visit the exhibition for free. For my 38th birthday, my girls organized me a surprise show at the planetarium, it was magic. When I observe planets, galaxies, and stars, I always remain in awe and I always think “We are smaller than a tiny grain of sand in the whole Universe. Yet the Immensity and Magnificence of the whole Universe is within each one of us. We are all made of stars.”
In this tiny little blue planet called Earth, the total number of humans currently living was estimated at 7.4 billions as of March 2016. The United Nations project it will increase up to 11.2 billion by the year 2100. Now I want you to stop for a second. Take a deep breath and give yourself a little time to reflect upon this: out of 7.4 billions of human beings, you are ONE. I mean, really think about it: out of 7.4 billion people, there is NO ONE ELSE like you. You are One-of-a-kind. You are Unique. You are Original. You are Exclusive. No one else on the planet has your physical appearance, your story, your journey and your experience. How do you feel about this? Doesn’t this thought make you feel special? I do when I think about it!
Yet, today’s world instead of cherishing our uniqueness, we tend to follow the mass and the rules that either our family, society, other people and above all media have hypnotized us in. Instead of leading we choose to follow. Instead of standing out we choose to fit in. Instead of being different we choose to be all alike. I think the greatest gift of being human is being Different, and with being different comes thinking differently.
Overall, as humans, we all want the same things: we pursue happiness, we want a life with purpose, we want to love and to be loved, we want to be healthy, we want a great career, we want to be seen and recognized, we want to be acknowledged and appreciated, we want to be remembered and we want to be part of something bigger than ourselves. I got a quite clear understanding of that listening to the stories of all the beautiful souls I met while traveling around the world. All of these desires are universal no matter what race, religion or part of the world you come from. However, the path we choose to fulfill these desires is different for each one of us and is based on our personal story.
It is my desire with this blog to inspire you to unleash and express your true self. When your being is not overshadowed by your ego, life starts showing up full of opportunities. When you choose to BE vs. to APPEAR you create abundance into your life, people get inspired by your authenticity which translates into leadership and they want to connect with you because they know that what you have to offer is ]of great value.
I hope that while you are reading this, you’ll recognize your own uniqueness.
’Til the next one!
